Head Start National Centers:
A key part of the training and technical assistance provided by Head Start to its grantees comes from the national centers. The National Centers are funded and guided by the Office of Head Start (OHS), the Office of Child Care (OCC), and the Health Services and Resources Administration's Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB). They offer resources and approaches that build program capacity and encourage consistent practices. The current Training/Technical Assistance system includes the National Centers on:
- Early Childhood Development, Teaching, and Learning (for Early Head Start, click here)
- Early Childhood Health and Wellness (funded by OHS, OCC, and MCHB)
- Program Management and Fiscal Operations (funded by OHS)
- Though the National Center for Cultural and Linguistic Responsiveness no longer exists, their material, including Planned Language Approach, is still available: https://eclkc.ohs.acf.hhs.gov/hslc/tta-system/cultural-linguistic
