Cost: $75 (lunch included on April 1)

Learning Outcomes:

  • Identify key aspects of effective reflective supervision
  • Develop skills in generating effective conversations around professional growth and development
  • Create a working agenda that supports a reflective process
  • Design and implement a local plan for reflective supervision


Close personal relationships are key to the health and well-being of people at any age.  They may be the single best prevention strategy for depression.  Just as Head Start staff seek to engage parents and families in healthy, supportive relationships, it is important that they too have structured support and guidance.  Supervision is not only about staff accountability, but also involves the commitment to nurture and guide staff so that they have the tools to engage children and families successfully.  This Reflective Supervision training will provide the opportunity to explore approaches to ensuring supportive relationships between supervisors and supervisees that contribute to staff’s ability to reflect upon and cope with the stresses and demands of their work.


Please consider sending a crosscutting team to RS.  This team ideally would include a Director, a Manager, and a staff person such as a family advocate or teacher.  The session will include planning time to explore the implementation of Reflective Supervision and a team approach with different perspectives is recommended.  If a team is unavailable, the information can still be useful back at the program with a team and follow up from your TTA Point of Contact.
